Replaced the same day, in most cases.

A tank that has started rusting through is not a repair. It's a countdown. Here is one we pulled out and what went in its place.

Side by side: a rust-streaked water heater before replacement, and the clean new unit installed in its place.

A corroding tank, and the replacement — new unit, new shut-off, new thermal expansion tank.

Catch it early

Rust streaks are the tank telling you.

Those brown lines run from the fittings down the side of the tank. They mean water has been seeping for a while and the steel is going. Once a tank lets go, it empties its full capacity onto the floor.

Replaced on your schedule, it's a planned job. Replaced after it bursts, it's a planned job plus drywall, flooring and whatever was stored nearby.

Close comparison: rust running down a failing tank, and the clean copper and brass of the replacement.

The same job, up close.

Real work. Real results.

What the job includes

Done properly, not just swapped.

New copper, brass shut-off valve and thermal expansion tank on top of a replacement heater.

New connections

New shut-off, new flex connectors, new relief line. The fittings that failed on the old tank don't get reused on the new one.

Water heater connected with red and blue PEX lines and a thermal expansion tank above.

Thermal expansion tank

Required on a closed system, and the thing most often skipped. Without it, pressure spikes every heating cycle and the relief valve takes the abuse.

A short, wide water heater fitted into a tight interior closet.

Sized for the space

Low closets and tight corners need a short-tank model. We measure before we order, so the unit that arrives is the unit that fits.

How it works

You deal with one company.

We partner with a licensed plumbing company so our customers can handle plumbing needs without starting over with a new contractor. We coordinate the scheduling and stay involved through the job.

The plumbing work itself is performed by our licensed plumbing partner. We tell you that up front, because you should always know who is holding the license on your job.

What's in house, what isn't

In house: air conditioning and heating under CAC1820550, electrical under EC 13013550.

Through our partner: all plumbing work, performed by a licensed plumbing contractor.

Warning signs

Signs your water heater is near the end.

Rust-colored water

Brown or orange water from the hot tap means the tank lining is gone and the steel is corroding.

Water in the drain pan

Any standing water under the tank is a leak. Pans buy you time; they don't fix anything.

Hot water that runs out early

Sediment at the bottom of the tank takes up space that used to hold hot water, and makes the element work harder.

It's over ten years old

In Florida water, that's a full life. Past that, you're running on borrowed time.
